2 Pet. 1:2. May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus Christ our Lord. There is nothing equal to it; therefore we pray and ask the angel of peace, and everywhere we ask for peace in churches, peace in prayers, in petitions, in greetings. And once, and twice, and three times, and many times, the head of the church gives it (saying): peace be with you. Why? Because he is the mother of all blessings and the foundation of joy. Therefore, Christ commanded the apostles, when entering the house, to say this first, as a symbol of good things. “Whenever you come into a house, first say: Peace to this house” (Luke 10:5). When he is not there, everything is in vain. And Christ said to the disciples: “My peace I give to you” (John 14:27). He paves the way for love. 2 Pet. 1:5–7.
