1. Marriages related to blood The Holy Synod determined: although the marriage of that Thomas and Olga, as committed by blood in the 5th degree, and therefore the church law on marriages, depicted in Kormcha's book, contrary, it should be completely destroyed; but as Thomas, showing his ignorance of church laws in the commission of this illegal marriage, asks for forgiveness and consideration from the Holy Synod, then in the judgment of this, and even more so that the children born from this marriage, who have not the slightest participation in such an illegal act, were not exposed to the irreparable misfortune of their lives, to leave his marriage Thomas with Olga without dissolution; and for their entering into this impermissible marriage, I will determine a church penance after the consideration of the diocesan bishop, and instead of sending them to monasteries to correct it, on the basis of the legalization shown in the Kormchai book on the 562nd letter, after two years, one hundred rubles will be collected from them for the maintenance of clerical and clerical widows and orphans. The Holy Synod determined: According to the reasoning of the inscription in Kormcha's book, the marriage of Luke with Sophia, as having occurred due to blood in the 6th degree, will be dissolved, and they will be given a church penance, after which they will be given the freedom to enter into other marriages. The Holy Synod determined: although such marriages, which Semyon entered into, according to the schedule, in the Kormcha book, sealed and contained in the Orthodox Church from ancient times to this day, are precisely among the prohibited ones, why Semyon and Elena, regardless of the ignorance they declare about the kinship between them, would not deserve any indulgence; but as it is clear from the circumstances of the case that the bride's father certified at the wedding that there was no close relationship between them, the ones getting married, and therefore the bride's father is the main culprit in the commission of this illicit marriage, but he had already died, and as soon as Semyon was informed about that relationship, he presented himself to the Holy Synod without any denunciation, showing his ignorance of church laws: then in the reasoning of this, rather, so that the children born from this marriage, who did not have the slightest participation in such an illegal act, were not exposed to irrevocable misfortune in their lives without fault, leave them Semyon and Elena without divorce with the imposition of church penance on them for two years. The Holy Synod determined: As written in Kormchai's book, it means that Luka's marriage with Olga consists in the 7th degree of blood, which according to the rules of the Holy Father, although it is not allowed, it is not allowed to do so after the divorce; for that reason, the marriage between Luka and Olga, which has already taken place, will not be dissolved, but only they, without separating them from cohabitation, will be corrected by the confessor with a decent church penance. As in the 51st chapter of Kormchai's book about marriage in the 7th degree from the blood, it is depicted that he is not ascribed to either commanded or forbidden marriages, and even before that he will not be commanded to do it; if it will happen, after the event, he will not be divorced, but the prohibition will be imposed on those who had intercourse: for that reason, the specified marriage of Luka and Olga, as having taken place in blood relationship in the 7th degree, without dissolving, leaving them in marriage inseparable. 2. Marriages related to two families The Holy Synod determined: the specified marriage of Luke with Sophia, as having occurred from two births in the 3rd degree, will be dissolved altogether; for joining it, he will assign them, as adulterers, penance for seven years, after the fulfillment of which he will allow them, if they wish, to enter into other marriages. The Most Holy Synod decided: that marriage of Pavlov and Daria, as exactly contrary to the rules of the saints and seductive, based on the 54th rule of the 6th Ecumenical Council and Basil the Great in 68th, will be annulled at all and will not be considered legal. The Holy Synod determined: although such marriages, in which Luka entered with Olga, as consisting of two families in the 4th degree, according to the schedule depicted in Kormcha's book, are placed among the prohibited; but as that marriage took place back in 1787, which is now 12 years old, from which they already have married children, and moreover, they entered into it not out of disregard for church traditions, but out of ignorance of the importance of the property existing between them: for that reason, to leave Luka and Olga inseparable in conjugal cohabitation, church penance is prescribed for them. The Holy Synod determined: that Peter and Sophia, on the basis of the inscription, in the Kormcha book, part 2, on the 207th letter on the back, and the rules of Saint Basil 78th and 86th, this cohabitant will separate, and the marriage, as lawless, will be destroyed; the priest, who crowned him, will leave his dignity. The Holy Synod determined: As it turned out on examination that the marriage between Vlas and Olga consists of two generations in the 4th degree, then on the basis of the inscription in the Kormchai book, part 2 on the 207th letter printed on the back, and the 54th rule of the 6th Ecumenical Council, that Vlas and Olga will be divorced, with the determination that they entered into an unlawful marriage of penance. The Holy Synod determined: As it turned out on examination that Vassa and Peter's first wife were in the 4th degree, and Peter, after the death of his wife, consisted of two families in the 5th degree; in the pamphlets, in Kormcha's book, there is a lack of provisions, although there is such a gap among the non-permitted, why should they not be allowed to do so, even if they did not enter it; but since that marriage has already been consummated, and there is nothing about the divorce of such marriages either in the word of God or in the council rules: for that reason, that marriage should not be dissolved; and that Peter and Vassa entered into an illegal marriage, they should be fined with the church eptimia upon consideration. The Holy Synod determined: after examination, it turned out that Paul and Thekla were related by assignment from two families in the 5th degree, because although it is shown in the Kormcha book according to the classification that the husband and wife do not make up the degree, this applies to them themselves and their children and grandchildren; and what follows to the secondary persons assigned to them, then husbands and wives are placed with them according to the same schedule in different degrees, something like: 1-e) on the 213th letter: "two brothers of the family will not marry two sisters of the family, the degree is the fourth"; 2nd) in the same place on the back of the 215th letter: "I am of this family, this is my wife and her brother, and this is my wife's brother's wife"; Why can't you read Thekla with Paul in the 4th degree. Although such marriages, as listed in Kormcha's book, are included before they are committed, after they have been committed, they are not allowed to divorce: for that marriage, which has already been committed, do not dissolve it, and pay penance to Pavel and Thekla, who were fighting at the same time, for entering into an illegal marriage. The Holy Synod determined: as according to the testimony of the witnesses, it turned out that Ivan was definitely illegitimate, then his kinship should not be attributed to that Peter: for that reason, Peter and Sophia are allowed to have marital cohabitation. 714 The Holy Synod determined: although such marriages as Vlas entered into with Vassa are not listed in the Kormchai book, there are no precise rules for their divorce; but since their kinship does not exceed the kinship in the 4th degree from the third-born incident: for that reason, the marriage of Vlas and Vassa will be dissolved, and if they wish, they will be given permission to enter into other marriages. 715 4. ity:visible;mso-wrap-style:square> The Holy Synod determined: As it turned out on examination that Peter was definitely a cousin of the late Taras, therefore the marriage of him Peter with Daria consists of kinship from two families in the 4th degree, which marriages according to the rules of the Holy Father and according to the church establishment, from ancient times to the present, are placed among the prohibited ones: for that reason, the marriage of him Peter with Daria is based on the description, in the Kormchai book of the 2nd part on 207, 208 and 215 of the letters depicted will be canceled altogether. For their entry into that and unlawful cohabitation, a church penance will be determined based on the consideration of their spiritual fathers, upon the fulfillment of which they will be allowed, if they wish, to enter into other marriages. The Holy Synod determined: as that Elena and Vlas are in the nature of two families in the 5th degree, what marriages, according to the description in the Kormchai book and the cathedral scroll of Tsaregrad Patriarch Sisinius, are prohibited: therefore the marriage of that Vlas with Elena will be dissolved and will not be considered legal; those who entered into it will be allowed to enter into other marriages. The Holy Synod determined: as it turned out after examination, that between them Thekla and Semyon, before entering into marriage, there was not kinship, but property from two families in the 5th degree; although according to the schedule in Kormchai's book, such marriages are prohibited between two families in the 6th degree, and some of them are permitted in the 6th degree, against which one degree is not enough between them, why if it was Semen who had not yet entered into marriage, then permission should not have been given for it; but when that marriage was already consummated, and according to the ecclesiastical regulations, depicted in the Kormchai book on the 239th letter, those who are forbidden to enter into marriage by blood up to the 8th degree, if someone enters in the 7th degree, they are not ordered to divorce, but only penance is prescribed, therefore in one degree and from ancient times, and therefore also from the Holy Synod, in such cases we show leniency: for that reason, to leave those Semyons and Thekla in marriage without dissolution; for their entry into an illegal marriage, penance is prescribed for them, on the basis of legalization, in the Book of Kormchai on the 238th letter. The Holy Synod determined: How between them Thomas and Elena there is a kinship of two families in the 5th degree, in which such marriages, according to the description in the Kormchai book, although they are prohibited, but that they should be dissolved after they have been committed, this is not found either in the Word of God or in the canonical rules: for that reason, the marriage of Thomas and Elena, which has already taken place, is not dissolved, leaving them in conjugal cohabitation is inseparable, and for joining them in marriage, contrary to the ancient church custom, to be fined with penance. The Holy Synod determined: As it turned out after examination, that the specified marriage of Petrov and Daria consists of two families in the 6th degree by assignation, and although such marriages are prohibited according to the description in the Kormchai book, it is not found in the Word of God or in the canonical rules that such marriages should be dissolved after they have been committed. conjugal cohabitation is inseparable, and for joining them in marriage, contrary to the ancient church custom, to be fined with penance. The Holy Synod determined: as Semyon and Thekla are related to each other by two families in the 5th degree, in which marriages according to the laws of the Greek kings and according to the decree of Sisinius, the Patriarch of Constantinople, are prohibited before their consummation, which custom and the Orthodox Church from ancient times to this day contains; and according to the law of God and the rules of the Apostles and saints, the Father is forbidden only to the 3rd and 4th degrees; and although the said Semyon, even if he had not yet entered into marriage, according to the ancient church custom, it should not have been allowed, but since he had already entered into marriage and had children from it, there is nothing mentioned about the divorce of such marriages either in the Word of God or in the canonical rules; for that, Semyon and Thekla should be left in a conjugal relationship without dissolution, but for entering into an unauthorized marriage, they should be given penance. The Holy Synod determined: because the marriage of Petrov and Olga consists of two families in the 5th degree, which according to the rules of the saints, the Father enters, although it is not allowed, but after the divorce, such a person is not allowed to do so; at the same time, Olga's 5th degree of kinship is calculated from the side of her stepmother Marya: for that reason, the marriage, which has already taken place, should not be dissolved. The Holy Synod determined: as between Paul and Thekla, the properties in the 5th degree should not be recited; and even if it was assigned by the stepmother of Pavlova's mother, Anna, it is possible to honor two generations in the 6th degree, but as according to the Russian book of Kormcha, marriages consisting of two generations in the 6th degree, many were already allowed, that is why Pavlo and Thekla are not prohibited from marrying. The Holy Synod determined: As that Savva and his stepmother Thekla, after the death of his father, constitute two degrees, why should the marriage of Savva and Domna be counted as two generations in the 6th degree; in the regulations laid down in the Kormchai book, even though such a marriage was established between those who were not allowed to enter into it, but as it had already taken place, nothing is found about the divorce of such marriages either in the Word of God or in the canonical rules: that is why Savva and Domna are indissociably married. The Holy Synod determined: Although such marriages, which Thomas and Sophia entered into, as consisting of two families in the 5th degree, according to the schedule depicted in Kormcha's book, are among the forbidden ones, but since those who fought are related by half-brother and sister, who, since they were of the same blood, cannot be honored in the 2nd degree: for the bride's grandfather Luke, who was born from the first wife of his father Paul, to his second wife Maura, as well as Maura's daughter from the first husband, and the bridegroom's mother Olga has no relation to the said Paul: for that reason, that marriage should not be dissolved, but church penitence should be determined for those who were offended, according to the consideration of their spiritual father. The Holy Synod determined: as the marriage of Luke with Sophia followed contrary to the growth depicted in Kormcha's book, it will be dissolved altogether. The Holy Synod determined: as the Holy Synod examined, it turned out that Danylov's grandmother, and Marya's mother, after the marriage of Danilov's great-grandfather Ivan with Marya's grandmother Daria, being widowed and having children from their first marriages, were half-sisters, who, since they were of the same blood, cannot be honored in the second degree: that is why they prevented Danylo and Marya from marrying and the Holy Synod does not find any opposition to church legalization. The Holy Synod determined: although the indicated marriage between Petrov and Anna, which occurred in the 6th degree from two generations, both the official position on marriages and the canonical scroll of Sisinius, Patriarch of Constantinople, sealed in the Kormchai book, (is) contrary; but since in the same Kormchai book on the 289th and 241st letters in the 7th degree from blood (which is prohibited in the regulations on marriages), the marriage is not destroyed after its event, according to the epitome, according to the bishop's reasoning, it is corrected; moreover, according to the 54th rule of the 6th Ecumenical Council, where the legalization of prohibited marriages is deliberately laid down, such degrees are not specified among the prohibited ones, and that Pavel and Anna have already married, two years have passed, and they have adopted children: although the Holy Synod does not recognize [that marriage] to be legal, nevertheless, in the reasoning of the above writings, it is established, by which in Marriages of the 7th degree and from blood are not resolved, condescending to those who are in the 6th degree from betrothal, and not from blood, he does not judge them to divorce, but allows them to live inseparably, however, for such entering into a marriage, they are punished by the bishop after consideration by the church penitentiary. The Holy Synod determined: as for marriages consisting of two families in the 6th degree of marriage, in which Vlas entered into with Olga, then in Rule 54 of the Sixth Ecumenical Council, where the legalization of prohibited marriages is deliberately laid down, the prohibition is not indicated; and although in the inscriptions, in Kormchai's book, such marriages are included before the marriage and between the forbidden ones, however, it is not allowed to do so after the divorce: for that reason, it is inseparable to leave Vlas and Olga in a conjugal cohabitation. The Holy Synod decided: that marriage between Titus and Domna, as doubtful, and since there are no rules for this case in the Kormchai book, should be left without annulment, but the church penance should be determined according to reasoning. The Holy Synod determined: Although Savva entered into marriage with Anna illegally: because in the manuscripts, in the Kormchai book, such marriages before their consummation are precisely included among the impermissible ones, so it was done by them out of ignorance and long ago, and about the divorce of such marriages, which entered into it, the Holy Father does not find exact rules; that is why the marriage of Savva and Anna should not be dissolved. The Holy Synod determined: as that Daria, after the death of her husband Ivan, constitutes a special degree, why should that marriage of Petrov and Daria be counted as two generations in the 7th degree; and in order to dissolve such marriages, there are no rules for that: for that reason, that marriage should be left without dissolution. The Holy Synod determined: even if he were the son of Fedor Luke, his marriage would be in the 6th degree even then. And since he is Fedor Luke's stepson, he does not have any relationship with Marya, but is in a distant appropriation by his patrimony, about which there is nothing about divorce either in the Word of God or in the canonical rules: for that reason, let that Fedor and Marya live in conjugal cohabitation without dissolution. 3. Marriages related to three families The Holy Synod determined: as it was examined, it turned out that his marriage consists of the property of three families, and in Kormcha’s book about kinship of three families, how it is protected, it is precisely printed that “I am of this family, this is my wife and her brother, and another is the wife of my wife’s brother”, and therefore the marriage of that Sergei and Sofia consists of three families in the 4th degree, 716 in what according to the schedule, in the same Kormcha book to the one who is present, to enter into marriage, although it is not allowed, but to divorce those who have quarreled after its completion, nothing is found about that in the canonical rules of the Holy Father; therefore, the marriage between Sergei and Sofia, which has already taken place, should be left without annulment. The Holy Synod determined: that the marriage of Peter and Mary according to the painting, depicted in Kormcha's book, followed from three generations in the 2nd degree, according to the nearest property is seductive, for that reason it will be dissolved altogether. 717 The Holy Synod determined: as it turned out upon examination that Peter and Thekla are distantly related to each other from three generations, why no legal obstacle to their conjugal cohabitation is considered: that is why the marriage is not dissolved. 718 The Holy Synod decided: the marriage between Sergei and Daria, as consisting of three generations in the 3rd degree, will be dissolved altogether, and for the unlawful entry into it, they, Sergei and Daria, will be sentenced to church penance for seven years. The Holy Synod determined: 1) although Olga was born of Mary, Ivan, both with Marya and with his first wife Daria, is of the same degree, and with Thomas in the second, with the only difference that Daria is by blood, and Ivan is with his second wife by property, while Ivan's daughter Olga is the third degree, and on the contrary, Savva is the fourth degree; in Kormcha's book, on the 227th letter, it is commanded: "in marriages, the essence of which is not kinship, it is appropriate to seek an honest one. It is better to clarify the matter, with the verb: even if the marriage offered by third-born exceeds the 4th degree, it is forgiven." 719 It follows from this that, according to church law, in the property of third-borns in the 5th degree, marriages should be arranged. 2) since Savva entered into marriage with Olga, which clearly resulted in the merging of names: because Ivan, who was Savva's uncle by his maternal aunt Daria, became his daughter Olga by marriage and father-in-law: then such a marriage is already unlawful, according to the rule of Saint Basil the Great, who says: "in those whose names are mixed, in these the marriage is unlawful", which is also in the cathedral scroll of Tsaregrad Patriarch Sisinius is depicted in Kormchai's book on the 233rd and 234th pages. 3) What follows from the fact that Savva and Olga are counted (after Daria's death) as if they were in a matchmaking relationship, but they have no kinship, then according to the above-mentioned circumstances, after Daria's death, they should not get rid of their property, because Daria and Ivan were separated only by union, and according to the church sacrament that was held between them at the time of marriage, property cannot be dissolved by death; and therefore his daughter Olga, the first father of her wife Daria, should not be removed from the stepmother's degree, especially since the City Law, chapter 49 [Kormchei] in clause 12 [7th face] clearly states from the son's face: "Father, even if he had many stepmothers, they are instead of mothers." And for these reasons, Olga Daria should be regarded as a mother in the stepmother's degree, and her nephew Daria Savva in the 4th degree as a brother, and in the 4th degree such a marriage, as mentioned above, is forbidden: for that Savva and Olga will dissolve their marriage. The Holy Synod determined that between them Ivan and Thekla, the Holy Synod does not see any property that prohibits them from marrying, because that Thekla's father Peter, although he was previously married to Ivan's aunt Anna, but that Thekla lived after her Anna's death, entering into marriage with the second wife of the third generation, Domna, why she, Thekla, not only with her husband Ivan, but also with his aunt do not have any property; and moreover, there is no provision in the cathedral rules for the dissolution of such marriages: for that reason, they should leave Ivan and Thekla in a conjugal relationship inseparable. The Holy Synod determined: there are no exact prohibitory rules of the Holy Father for such a marriage, in which Cosma entered; and although according to the description in Kormchai's book, such a marriage is included before it is committed and among the impermissible, however, after it is committed, divorce is not allowed; this marriage was consummated: for that reason, Kozma and Olga were not divorced, but only to determine penance for such an entry into the marriage, according to the consideration of their spiritual father. The Holy Synod determined: how Peter and Mary make up the 5th degree; in the pamphlets laid down in Kormchai’s book, such a gap is established between the prohibited ones, why they should not have been allowed to do so, even if they did not enter into it; 720 but since that marriage has already been consummated, and nothing is found about the divorce of such marriages either in the Word of God or in the council rules: for that reason, the marriage of Peter and Marya should not be dissolved, but that they entered into an illegal marriage, they should be fined with church penance. The Most Holy Synod determined: as it turned out upon examination that Taras and Olga are of three families and exceed the 4th degree, 721 therefore their marriage, which has already taken place, should not be dissolved. The Holy Synod determined: Although between them Savva and Mavra there is a property of three families in the 4th degree; but as in Kormcha's book, in the act on marriages, on the 202nd letter, it is written: "Relationship of third-borns in the first degree is prohibited by law, by custom, and so on"; that is why Savva and Mavra, since their marriage has already been consummated, will remain inseparable in marriage and will not be subjected to church penance. The Holy Synod determined: how Vlas and the wife of his brother-in-law Titus, after his death, constitute the 6th degree of three generations, 722 and in the inscriptions, in the Kormchai book of those depicted, such a marriage, although among the impermissible ones, why them, even if they had not yet entered into marriage, should not be allowed to do so; but since that marriage has already taken place, and there is nothing to be found about their divorce either in the Word of God or in the council rules: for that marriage, they, Vlas and Elena, will not be dissolved. 4. Marriages in godparents The Holy Synod determined: as according to the ancient ecclesiastical legalization, depicted in Bolshoi Trebnyk, at the baptism of infants it is supposed to have one recipient of the male sex, and one recipient of the female sex, therefore, that Andrew should be considered the recipient of only Luke, and Elena - her former recipient at the baptism, why is there no relationship between them; and according to the established custom, although at the baptism of one person, several male and female people are the receivers, but one custom cannot serve as a law, and according to no rules of the saints, the Father is not commanded to divorce such marriages: for that Luke and Elena are inseparable in conjugal cohabitation. The solution to this problem is the same as the example written above. The Holy Synod determined: because according to the 53rd rule of the 6th Ecumenical Council and according to the second, such spiritual kinship is respected only between two godparents and those who descend from them, and not between ascendants and collaterals - and that persons existing on the same side are not interrupted by baptism, this is clearly described in the Kormchai book - besides, there are no rules about divorcing such marriages; for that reason, Ivan and Elena should not be left without termination. The Holy Synod determined: as that Elena received baptism from the saint not Peter himself, but his deceased wife Vassa, therefore, between Peter and Mavra not only spiritual, but also there is no kinship, because according to the 53rd rule of the 6th Ecumenical Council, it is forbidden to combine the marriage of the recipient with the mother of a child, who himself received baptism from the saint, and in the chapter on kinship The 8th verse of the 2nd 723 of Matthew Vlastar is accurately depicted on the 223rd letter: "The kinship from the holy baptism is observed between these two priests 724 and those who descend from them, and not between the ascendants and collaterals, six: fathers, grandfathers, brothers, uncles and brothers-in-law: between these two persons, the Holy Spirit mediates, not the flesh"; 725, for that reason, the marriage of Peter and Mavra was not dissolved. The Holy Synod determined: although she Thekla was the adoptive daughter of Peter's daughter Anna, born of his first wife Daria, and therefore she is spiritually related to Peter and is revered; but Thekla's daughter Irina, who was born from her, is not related to Peter, and there is no provision for the divorce of such marriages in the rules of the Holy Apostles and the Holy Father; for that reason, the marriage of Petrov and Iryna will not be dissolved, but they will remain in an inseparable conjugal relationship and penance will not be imposed. The Holy Synod determined: how the marriage of Paul and Thekla is contrary to the 53rd rule of the 6th Ecumenical Council; for that it will be canceled altogether. The decision on this issue is the same as under No. 3. The Holy Synod determined: as there are no rules for the divorce of such marriages, on the occasion of receptivity, those Peter and Anna should be left in marriage without dissolution. The Holy Synod determined: as described in the Kormchai book about kinship, which is depicted by holy baptism, it is forbidden to enter into marriage the children of the adopter with those adopted from him at baptism and following them up to seven degrees in the descending line, and not among other kinship from ascending and collateral, and also to count what degrees between children of different fathers who have the same adopter, about that there is no legalization, therefore, among those who fought in the first example, Anna and Sophia, the wives who married Peter and Titus, are the only ones who have been assigned to each other; and in the second case, since Luka and Pavel, who fought each other, although they have one adopter, but the children of different fathers, there is no kinship between them: for that reason, those marriages, as unimpeded, should be left without dissolution. The Holy Synod determined: As from the circumstances of the case, it was revealed that Peter was the actual receiver of that Cosma, and he Thomas was present at that baptism for one ceremony only; since at the baptism of the male sex, there should be only one receiver; therefore, in consideration of these circumstances and in respect of the already existing from this marriage, Thomas has children, to leave them inseparable in marriage. The Holy Synod determined: how Marya and Thomas entered into this marriage, they surely did not know about the importance of the kinship existing between them, and it had been completed for eight years, and they had a daughter, who is already five years old: for that reason, their marriage should be left without dissolution, with the determination of the church penitence for an hour, under the supervision of their spiritual fathers. We express our sincere gratitude to the rector of the cathedral, archpriest P. G. Lebedyntsev, for sending us an exact copy of this manuscript. Wed above, a note with words in the case of a defect in the 4th degree. Wed note with words, there were also such examples. Incorrectness of this account, i.e. his inconsistency with the 50th chapter of the Kormchei is revealed by the following example of the synod decree on marriage in the same combination of the triad property. Wed also in the examples of defects in the 4th degree of the triad property Nos. 4 and 7. In the manuscripts of Metropolitan Evgeny, both examples of marriages in the 2nd degree of triadic property are placed between marriages in the 4th degree. And this example in the manuscripts of Metropolitan Evgeniy is placed between marriages in the 4th degree of the triadic property See VI. Ѡ҆ сꙋпрᲂу́жествѣ ѻ҆́bsche. The absence in the given combination of the triadic property "is laid down in the 50th ch. "Kormchei medzu nedozvolennymi" because it is a defect in the 4th degree, and not in the 5th, as the Holy Synod considered, accepting husband and wife (Luke and Mary) as two different degrees. The stepson of the widow's uncle, the son of her second husband, and the niece of the first do not "exceed" the 4th degree of the triadic property, but are part of it. You may be interested in:
