Hebrews 2:1. Therefore... we must be especially attentive to the words that we have heard Hebrews 2:2. For if for that word which came through the angel told to Sodom (Gen.19:1), those who did not want to listen to it: then Hebrews 2:3. How will we avoid [punishment] if we are so careless about the new life that we began and received preaching? from the Lord of Angels Himself, and which he also established in us, who from Him... have you heard, Further: instead of the Apostles, the Son Himself “certifies” 2 through Hebrews 2:4 powers and... signs, performed by the Apostles, together with the Holy Spirit, which was communicated to them in the form of tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy and other gifts with which they were richly endowed by the Spirit (Acts 2:3-4, 1 Cor.12:1). Hebrews 2:5. After all, the future world of which we are talking was not subordinated to the Angels, that is, we preach; but to the Son, like David Hebrews 2:6–7. testified about this, saying: what is man, that You visit him?.. He belittled him for a few things from the Angels. Note that the said world was subordinated to the flesh, not to the Son, when he said: “I put everything in subjection to Him,” as David said (Ps. 8:5-7). So, if He subordinated everything to Him, then He left nothing not subject to Him, - meanwhile Hebrews 2:8. now we do not yet see... everything subordinate to Him: he said this about idolaters and crucifiers. Hebrews 2:9 with glory and honor...crowned for everyone... death... taste it, that is: since the Immortal by nature could not die, then according to the flesh by which He died, He who died was as if He had not died. So, since He did not die by His nature, He underwent death out of love for us; and since by His nature He was above death, death could not approach Him. Hebrews 2:10. For it was fitting that He in whom all things were created and through whom all things were established, that is, to the kingdom, so that He himself may become after the quickening of the resurrection, - and so that through His suffering He made them... perfect, for they will not always remain on the milk of the law. Hebrews 2:11. For He who sanctified them and who were sanctified by Him, - for what reason is he not ashamed... brothers... to call... them, for truly he became their kin according to the flesh that he received from them. But lest this seem strange to you, the prophet foretold this from ancient times, saying: Hebrews 2:12 I will proclaim your name to my brethren; in the midst of the church [the assembly of believers] I will praise (sing) you (Ps. 21:23). Here I am and My children whom God has given Me (Is. 8:18). Hebrews 2:14. So, since children, so named because of the promise, partook of flesh and blood, that is, sin, which is signified by the flesh, in the same way, he became involved in the same state of suffering, “in the likeness of the flesh” (Rom. 8:3, Phil. 2:7), and accepted them (flesh and blood with suffering) in order to be an example of goodness for people - and then gave Himself over to death, so that through his death he could abolish the one who had power over death, that is, the devil, bringing death upon the creatures by eating the fruit (Gen. 3:1). So He died in order that by His death He might free those over whom He reigned. all their lives they were guilty of... slavery Hebrews 2:16. So, he does not receive it from the Angels you are the life-giving medicine of your life, but from Semyon and Abraham Himself, to whom it was said: “In your Seed... all nations will be blessed” (Gen. 22:18). Hebrews 2:17 Therefore He had to become like His brothers in everything, He was like Moses, who in the likeness of the Son gave himself for the sons of his people (Ex. 32:31–32), and that He may be faithful [High Priest] and saved all nations from death, like Aaron, who, being a mysterious prototype of Him, averted death from the sons of his family through the censer with which he stood against death (Num. 16:48). “The High Priest om” did not call Him because of what is communicated to us through sacrifices, but because of what is given to us spiritually in Him, that is, because He would be our Purifier through baptism (immersion), and not sprinkling. Hebrews 2:18. For in that He Himself deigned to [endure] sufferings and temptations, that is, in what He was tempted by the identity of His nature with ours, in this He helps those who suffer from the weakness of the flesh and are subject to temptations - He will be able to help them, as one who knows the weakness of the flesh, - precisely now, after He has taken on the flesh.
