Our venerable father Sergius sent us, his novices, to greet you, Distinguished Visitors, with both His and our joy. We say: “and with His joy,” because He sees in the Lord that the spirit of faith and prayer brought you to this monastery; and the Saints tend to rejoice both “in the Lord” (Phil. 3:1), and in those who flow to the Lord with faith and love. We, the children of the Kingdom of Russia, rejoice and thank God that in the House of the Tsar, even in our days, as in the days of our ancestors, there lives a hereditary love for God and His Saints.
