19. Первородный грех как источник внутреннего смятения и беспорядка. Возможность врачевания поврежденного грехом состояния человека

Although I wrote to you to judge and I myself promised to talk about where the germ of internal confusion and disorder comes from in us, it’s already known, and you know where it comes from. Therefore, there is no need to argue, but just remember how we believe about this. We believe that such an embryo was not inserted into our nature by the Creator at the creation of man, but was introduced after creation by the force of the fall of our first parents, who, breaking the commandment, damaged and upset our nature, which they passed on to their offspring, that is, to the entire human race, upset and damaged. So it passed on to you and me and serves as the cause of that confusion and that disorder within us, from which all the disorder occurs outside, in the private life of each person, family and public life. Why is this disorder, although we receive it in the embryo at birth, but it is not natural to us, does not belong to human nature, is not so essential in it that without it a person would no longer be a person, but, on the contrary, without it a person is a real person. It is our illness, and only after it is eliminated can we be healthy in the form in which we should be by nature, as it came from the hands of the Creator. I remember your desire to become at the level of human dignity. Heal the disease in yourself - and you will become like this. Remember that our inner confusion and disorder are innate to us, but are not natural, do not constitute our nature as an essential part of it, but are squeezed between the natural parts and are upset both in each part of our activity and in their mutual relations. If it were natural, then its presence would not produce the suffering and torment that we experience from it. What is natural is the joy of life, and what is contrary to nature torments and torments it. On the other hand, if this were natural, then when someone appeared free and pure from that, he would no longer be a person. But we know a Man Who was completely pure from this and yet was a man - a real man. We also know that all who put on Him receive the ability to purify themselves, just as He “is pure” (1 John 3:3), and to appear like Him. Remember, I say that this disorder is innate to us, but not natural - remember, and hold fast to the conviction of that. This conviction will keep you jealous of the cure for this disease. If it is not natural, then it means there is an opportunity to heal it. Having this hope, who would not be inspired to heal himself by doing so? Our nature in its pure form is amiable. The Angels themselves look at it with love and surprise when it appears as such. Shouldn’t we want to see it as such, and, moreover, not outside - in others, but in ourselves? But all our happiness and well-being consists in getting rid of this disease. For when it is gone, what will prevent us from being in a blissful state and feeling like one? On the contrary, if this disease is natural, then it cannot be cured. So it will remain forever, no matter how much you work to expel it. Accept this thought - and you will throw up your hands, saying to yourself: that’s right, it will be. And this is that destructive “neglect” into which, having invested themselves, they give themselves over to “the practice of doing all uncleanness” (Eph. 4:19). And I repeat: keep the conviction that our disorder is not natural to us, and do not listen to those who say: what is there to interpret, this is how we were created, you can’t help yourself. This is not how we were created, and if we take care of ourselves properly, we will do something to ourselves. I am explaining all this to you so that you will be jealous to take charge of yourself and not allow yourself again to experience the torment that you experienced, but, on the contrary, stop the very possibility of it in yourself.
