(Acts 3:19–26; John 2:1–11) “Repent and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19–20). So said St. The Apostle Peter crucified the Lord to the Jews, comforting them that they did it out of ignorance. It is not out of ignorance that we crucify the Lord within ourselves a second time with our sins; but He is merciful and accepts us when we repent and turn to Him with all our hearts. This is what we did during Lent. Everyone ran to the Lord in tears of repentance for their sins, and the more sincerely they did this, the more they felt the coolness of mercy coming from the face of the Lord, through the hands and the permissive word of the priest of God. Now what can we do? Beware of new falls, so as not to fall again into the guilt of crucifying the Lord. The Apostle says that heaven received the Lord Jesus only until the years of the dispensation of all. Then He will come again and execute judgment. With what eyes will those who pierced His side look at Him! But we too will have to stand in their ranks if we stop bearing the fruits of repentance and return to the old ways.
