(2 Cor. 11, 5–21; Mark 4, 1–9) “Behold, a sower went out to sow” (Mark 4:3). Since this Sower went out to sow, He has not stopped sowing. First, He Himself personally sowed, then through the apostles, and finally through the Divine Scriptures and God-wise teachers. And to this day the word of God’s truth is being sown everywhere. Just be ready to reveal yourself to the good land, you will certainly be seeded; God will increase what is sown. How to imagine the good land? By attention and study of the word of God, sympathy and love for it, and readiness to immediately put into action what you learn. In such a mood, not a single word will lie on top of the soul, but everything will go inside. Combining there with the elements of the spirit that are native to it, it will take root and sprout. Then feeding from above with spiritual inspirations, and from below with good desires and labors, it will grow into a tree, give flower and fruit. God himself arranged this around us, and therefore one cannot help but be surprised at our infertility. And all from inattention and negligence. You might be interested in:
