(1 Cor. 1:26–29; Matt. 20:29–34) The two blind men of Jericho cry out, and the Lord restores their sight. But were it only these blind men who were in those places? Of course not. Why did these receive insight, while others did not? Because they did not cry out; but they did not cry out because they had no hope; they had no hope because they did not please God; They did not please God because they believed little. To whom real faith comes, he will immediately begin to please God; and with pleasing God, hope will begin to enter; and from all this comes prayer, compelling all help from above. There is no such thing as a refusal. Yes, they know how to ask, and they truly know what they should ask, and they understand the extent of asking, and they maintain patient persistence in prayer.
