(1 Cor. 7, 24–35; Matt. 15, 12–21) “From the heart come evil thoughts” (Matthew 15:19). Where in the heart? Their root is in the sin living in us, and their ramifications, multiplication and a certain type in each of them are from his own will. How can this be? First, cut off everything that is arbitrary. It will be like someone plucking leaves from a tree, cutting off branches and twigs, and cutting off the trunk almost to the root. Then do not allow new shoots to come out, the very root will dry up: that is, do not allow evil thoughts to come from the heart, but reflect and drive away those that come out, and the sin living in us, not receiving reinforcement, will weaken and become completely weakened. This is the essence of the commandment: “Be sober, be vigilant. Pay attention to yourself. Gird up your loins and their thoughts” (1 Peter 5:8, 1:13). When paying attention, one must maintain reasoning. Not only bad things come from the heart, but also good things; However, not every good thing inspired by the heart must be fulfilled.
