Caring for your neighbor and remembering the saints: a priest and sisters of mercy visited elderly people in Župranytranslated

July 6, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 4, the rector of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in the city of Oshmyany, Archpriest George Mukha, together with the sisters of the sisterhood of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara, visited the department of round-the-clock care for elderly and disabled people in the agricultural town of Zhuprany. The purpose of the visit was spiritual communication, support for wards and staff, as well as joint honoring of the saints especially revered by the Church in July.

Among them are the apostles Peter and Paul (July 12), Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir (July 28), the blessed Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia of Murom (July 8), as well as the holy royal passion-bearers Nicholas, Alexandra and their children (July 17).

The guests were warmly greeted by the head of the department, Natalya Anatolyevna Falevich. As a sign of respect for the work of the employees and to make their work easier, Father Georgy donated chlorine detergents to the institution. In addition, a fragrant cinnamon pie was prepared for the staff, baked by the mother of a parish Sunday school graduate.

The meeting was opened by one of the sisters, emphasizing that it was dedicated to holy people of different social statuses, eras and destinies. These were both eminent and ordinary people, healthy and weak, men, women and even children, who with their faith and love...

It’s good that Father Georgy not only talked, but also brought bleach and cake - it was a necessary thing. Well done Natalya Anatolyevna for greeting me so warmly. And it’s especially nice to read about cinnamon pie from the mother of a Sunday school graduate, in a human way.

It's good that along with the conversation, concrete help was also brought - chlorine is certainly not superfluous in such a place, and the cinnamon pie from the schoolboy's mother turned out very humane. Nataliya Anatoliivna, well done for accepting it like that. And the mention of saints of different fates, including children, is correct, because in such visits this is exactly what is felt.

I agree, Konstantin, bleach and pie are just what gets right to the point in a place like this. It’s nice that the school graduate’s mother didn’t forget and baked it. Have you been to Zhuprany yourself or are you just following the news of the parish?

Что хорошо, что что вместе с разворяты про святих ечечь и хлорку завезли — в таком отделении это реально ужная вещь. Пирог с корицей от мамы выпускника воскресной школа — вообще по-домашнему, прям чувствуется тепло. And Natalya Anatolyevna well done, that's how I met.

Yes, Konstantin, bleach is a direct matter; you can’t do without it in such a department. And the cinnamon pie probably filled the entire corridor with the smell, making it more cozy. By the way, do you support such visits yourself or only in the comments?

Well noted, Konstantin, about bleach and pie - this is really to the point, without unnecessary words. I especially liked that the Sunday school graduate's mother baked, as if the whole community had participated a little. What do you think, is it such simple things that students most often remember?

It's a good thing that together with the talk about the saints, they also brought bleach - in such a department it is really needed. A cinnamon pie from the mother of a school graduate is really home-made, I can imagine how the smell spread through the corridor. Nataliya Anatolyivna, well done for such a warm welcome.

Yes, chlorine — that's exactly what's there every day, not just on holidays. The pie from the schoolboy's mother is also to the point, such things immediately create confusion, that they came not simply "from the church", but in a neighborly way. Наталья Анатольевна, obviously, knows how to accept people, without that, such meetings would quickly become formal.
