Meeting with students at the Volga State College named after V.P. Machnevatranslated

On Monday, September 28, an extracurricular lesson from the series “Talks about important things” took place in all educational institutions of the country. The topic of the lesson this time was the life and spiritual feat of the Holy Martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna Romanova. As part of this event, the rector of the Samara Theological Seminary, Archpriest Maxim Kokarev, visited the Volga State College named after V.P. Machnev, where he held a thematic conversation with students. The Venerable Martyr Elizaveta Feodorovna was the wife of the Governor General of Moscow, Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich. After the tragic death of her husband, she completely devoted herself to works of mercy, founding the Martha and Mary Convent of Labor and Mercy in Moscow. In 1918, the Grand Duchess suffered martyrdom at the hands of the Bolsheviks in Alapaevsk, and in 1992 she was canonized as a saint of the Russian Orthodox Church.
