Military service members took the oath at the Bagration complex in the Svetlogorsk districttranslated

September 7, 2026 · 1 min read

On September 6, the dean of the Svetlogorsk district, Archpriest Alexander Kisel, congratulated the participants in the territorial defense training camp, who gathered at the military glory complex in honor of Operation Bagration. Ceremonial events were held here on the occasion of the taking of the oath by those liable for military service.

Addressing those liable for military service, the clergyman emphasized the value and sacred duty of serving the Fatherland: “Defending our home, the peaceful sky above our families, is a manifestation of the highest Christian love and fidelity.”

After parting words, Archpriest Alexander performed a prayer service before the start of any good deed and sprinkled the defenders of the Fatherland and their personal weapons with holy water.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the executive branch, the leadership of the territorial defense of the Svetlogorsk region, veterans and relatives of those liable for military service.

After the ceremonial events, the participants visited the museum exhibition of the complex.

Good to see Fr. Alexander Kisel there at the Bagration complex, blessing the men and their weapons with holy water before they took the oath. The part about defending your own home and family as Christian duty rings true. Wonder if any of the veterans shared stories with the younger guys after the museum visit.
