The Church of St. Nikita was built for peasants as a parochial church to the Resurrection Church in the nearby village named after it. After being closed by an order of the Kalinin Oblast Executive Committee, confirmed by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the church was soon ruthlessly destroyed along with the village—during the creation of Ivanovo reservoir.
