On September 5, 2026, supporters of the schismatic so-called. The Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), with the participation of the police, seized the church in honor of the blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Dashkivtsi, Khmelnitsky region.

The seizure of the church occurred around 15:00, when supporters of the OCU, in the presence of two police crews, cut the locks on the doors of the church and got inside, reports the Union of Orthodox Journalists.

It is noted that the raiders used falsified documents as a pretext to seize the church. Previously, schismatics illegally re-registered a church on behalf of a religious community without notifying its rector and parishioners, renamed the religious organization, changed its charter and replaced the legal leader.

At the same time, instead of the legal leader of the community, Archpriest Sergius Shpak, the documents fictitiously indicated local OCU activist Oksana Barabash as the new leader.

In connection with the seizure of the church in the Khmelnitsky diocese, they emphasized that the legislation defines the actions of unauthorized persons who are not members of the religious community as gross internal interference in the activities of a religious organization, for which legal punishment is provided...

It's sad how it's done. Again, those falsified papers, the renaming of the village, and they installed a certain Oksana Bárašová instead of Sergej Špak's father. People have been going to that church for years and now it is taken from them in broad daylight like this with the police. What does the law say about it when it happens so openly?
