On the eve of the celebration of the memory of the Prophet Elijah, Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass celebrated an all-night vigil in the Chelyabinsk church consecrated in honor of this saint of God. Concelebrating with the ruling bishop were the head of the social department of the Chelyabinsk diocese, Priest Pavel Kurbatov, and the rector of the church, Archpriest Evgeniy Martenets. At the service, cadets of the Chelyabinsk branch of the Air Force Academy, which spiritually cares for the Ilyinsky Church, prayed. During the reading of the canon, Metropolitan Alexy anointed the believers with consecrated oil. Tomorrow the Church celebrates the feast of the Prophet Elijah, who is revered as a zealous defender of faith in the true God and a strong man of prayer.
