Celebrations dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and City Day were held in Berezinotranslated

For residents of the Berezinsky district, July 3 is a particularly significant date. It was on this day in 1944 that the Berezin region was liberated from the Nazi invaders. At the same time, it is symbolic that three years earlier, also on July 3, the area was occupied. Therefore, for Berezinians this day is not only a public holiday, but also a deeply personal memory of the courage of their ancestors, who brought peace and freedom at the cost of incredible sacrifices. The celebrations began with prayer. In the Nikolsky city church, the dean of the Berezinsky church district, Archpriest Ilya Goncharuk, performed a prayer service to our Lord Jesus Christ for peace in our country, for the unity of the people and the preservation of peace and tranquility on the Belarusian land.

Then a memorial service was performed for all those who laid down their lives for the Fatherland and people during the Great Patriotic War: those killed in battle, those tortured in captivity, those who died from serious wounds, hunger and deprivation. The prayerful commemoration sounded like living evidence of the gratitude of descendants to those whose valor and self-sacrifice became the basis of today's world. After the service, a solemn meeting was held in the city park dedicated to the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the liberation of the Berezin region.…
