Interestingly, Lane is teaching her own children and writing a history of the movement. In Bulgaria, this is almost unheard of, but I wonder if it is better than the overcrowded classes with 30 children each. I will buy the book when it comes out next year.

Interesting, Todor, that Lane combines his own experience with the story - it makes the book come alive. In our schools, there are often 25-30 children in a class and the teacher barely manages to pay attention to everyone, but the children learn to communicate and work in a group. Would you try homeschooling yours, or are you just thinking?

Mariana, I agree that large classes of 25-30 children teach group work, but often leave the weaker or more curious ones aside. My son and I have already tried a few months of extra reading at home on history and football rules - he's calmer and he's asking more. What do you think, would they allow official homeschooling in Bulgaria without a lot of paperwork?

Boris, that's right - large classes often leave curious children waiting for others to catch up. My eight-year-old daughter and I do the same with knitting and church songs at home, and she opens up a lot more. In Bulgaria, we will probably have to go through a lot of documents and checks from the inspectorate, but it is worth a try if the child is really not doing well at school. Would you still apply this year?
