The priest and the director of the Radius center visited assisted living homes for people with developmental disabilitiestranslated

On June 30 and July 1, the rector of the church in the name of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in the village of Lugovoe, Ulyanovsk, and the director of the Radius social rehabilitation center, Milena Krasnova, visited assisted living homes in the city of St. Petersburg and the village of Razdolie, Leningrad region.

The President of the St. Petersburg Association of Public Associations of Parents of Children with Disabilities “GAOORDI” Margarita Urmancheeva introduced Father Evgeniy and Milena Rafaelyevna to assisted living homes, where people with developmental disabilities who need daily assistance of various kinds live on a permanent basis. Eighteen people live in four of these houses. All feasible work activities are organized for them, there are special workshops, a sports room, and a swimming pool. Classes are also held in other centers, for example, at the Anton Is Near Foundation, and trips to the city center, visits to concerts and museums are also provided.

“I would especially like to note that the houses were built in large blocks of the city; accordingly, they are not cut off from the urban environment, but, on the contrary, are located around it,” noted Father Evgeniy. — Such projects are very important and should be implemented in all cities of the country. Anna NovákováDobře, že ty domy stojí přímo v běžných čtvrtích a ne někde na samotě. To, co řekl otec Evgenij o integraci do města, má smysl. U nás by taky takové projekty pomohly, zatím to vypadá spíš na papíře.
