The open-air service on the main holiday of the Simbirsk Metropolis, the day of the Synaxis of the Simbirsk Saints, was performed by three archpastors, co-served by the clergy - Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky, Bishop Diodorus of Melekess and Cherdaklinsky, Bishop Alexander of Barysh and Inzen, reports the website of the Simbirsk diocese.

“Today, for the first time, we performed a divine service at the place where the majestic cathedral of the city of Simbirsk once stood in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity,” Bishop Longin said in his speech. – It was built in gratitude to God for the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812 and in memory of the soldiers of the Simbirsk militia.
