The glory of the church in Ljubinjetranslated

On the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, His Eminence Metropolitan Dimitrije celebrated the Holy Liturgy in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ljubinje, with the clergy of the Eparchy of Zahumsko-Herzegovina and Primorje and other dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church concelebrating.

In the gospel sermon, the Metropolitan taught that the Blessed Virgin Mary is the holiest of the human race — more honorable than the Cherubim and more glorious than the Seraphim. It was called "the abode of the unplaceable" because God became incarnate in her womb. Born of righteous, long-barren parents Joachim and Anna, she lived a perfect, angelic life even before the Annunciation. She is the only one of the people called "benevolent" — a name given to her by God himself. She did not taste putrid death, but was taken up to the heavens in the flesh. She is a quick mediator between God and people, a mother who prays to the Son for all people, and the source through which all grace is transmitted to the Church.

Speaking about the spiritual life, the Bishop stressed: when the greatest pain is, zort, as the old people used to say, when difficulty comes, try it. Don't worry, don't experience stress.
