Today, October 7, the Church remembers Saint Vladislav, King of Serbiatranslated

The memory of Saint Vladislav, King of Serbia (+ after 1264), is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on October 7.
Holy King Vladislav of Serbia was the son of Holy King Stephen the First-Crown. He reigned from 1234 to 1242.
Saint Vladislav was distinguished by his rare compassion, kindness and mercy towards the sick, strangers and the poor.
On the coins that were in circulation during his reign, he was called “the servant of Christ Vladislav.”
Saint Vladislav is also known for having founded a monastery in Mileshevo, to which he transferred the relics of his uncle, Saint Sava, Archbishop of Serbia.
Saint Vladislav spent the last years of his earthly life in a monastery in Mileshevo, peacefully departed to the Lord in the arms of his nephew, the holy King Milutin, and was buried in the monastery.
