A large youth “film festival on wheels” will finish in the Yaroslavl region from September 11 to 16translated

From September 11 to 16, 2026, the final events of the XVI International Youth Film Festival “Light of the World” - one of the largest international youth film festivals in Russia - will take place in the Yaroslavl region.
The large-scale film forum, which has been held annually since 2011, will unite filmmakers from dozens of countries around the world, the Organizing Committee of the film festival told Foma magazine.
This year the festival will be held in Yaroslavl, Rybinsk, Uglich, Tutaev and Myshkin, and in November the best films will be seen by residents of small towns and villages in the region as part of the traditional project “Echo of the Film Festival”, which will take place from November 20 to 27.
Filmmakers consider the most valuable part of the festival to be live communication with the audience, which is possible thanks to its distinctive feature: together with directors, producers, jury members and organizers, the festival moves from city to city every day, which is why it has long been called a “festival on wheels.”
“This format allows festival films to be seen by thousands of spectators throughout the region, and allows authors to meet their audience in person. After each screening, viewers can ask questions to the directors, discuss what they saw and share their impressions,” noted...
