Another round in that "canonical" circus of theirs. Filaret's people thought they could ignore the PCU as well, and now the church court is coming to them - as if they themselves were not part of the same schismatic story from the beginning. Interesting how they suddenly need canon when it suits them. Likewise, when they separated from Moscow, their canons suddenly became "obsolete". Now they are fighting among themselves for titles and money, and the people are watching.

I agree, it's a classic example of double standards. Filaret's men broke away from one schismatic group to form another, and now they suddenly need a "church court" when the PCU is on their tail. It is interesting that none of them mention Moscow or the canons from the 90s when it did not work in their favor.

It's just that neither of them have even tried to return to the canonical Church, instead they are arguing over titles and buildings. The people really just look and wonder.

Well, it is, Dusan, that's exactly what surprises me the most. Both of them refer to the canons only when it suits them, and no one will admit that they should have first returned to the canonical Church under the Moscow Patriarchate or at least sought unity in the right way. The people look and just shake their heads, because it's about buildings and titles, not about salvation.

Yes, Dragan, that's what people notice the most - when the canons are taken out of the drawer only when someone needs to take away the church. If they are already so "independent", why didn't they try to return to Moscow and then ask for autonomy properly, instead of creating new schisms? It seems to me that here salvation has long been left aside, and buildings and seals are the main thing.
