PS Siluan blessed the opening of the new school year at the Romanian high school in Giulatranslated

Bishop Siluan of Hungary participated on Monday in the opening of the new school year at the "Nicolae Bălcescu" Romanian High School in Giula.

His Eminence officiated a Tedeum service and said the prayers dedicated to the opening of a new school year. The hierarch also blessed the classes where the over 445 young Romanians enrolled in the 2026-2027 school year study.

"It is a real joy for the children, for the students, for their parents, for their grandparents and for the entire Romanian community, because this is the place where the young generation acquires their first knowledge and, of course, also receives notions regarding their identity and origin, as well as the Romanian language," said His Holiness Father Siluan.

Maria Czegledi, Director of the educational institution, was among those who gave welcome messages.

"Today's demonstration is dedicated to the 445 students, but, in a very appropriate way, to the 27 freshmen and the 39 students in the ninth grade, the students who start their activity here today, and we hope it will be a good omen," said the high school principal.
