"We are called to take up the cross of life with dignity and responsibility, to listen carefully and to fulfill the word of the Lord who tells us: Whoever wants to come after Me, renounce himself, take his cross and follow Me", said Bishop Lucian of Caransebeș on Sunday at the Petroșnița Monastery.

His Eminence celebrated the Holy Liturgy at the outer altar of the monastic settlement in the presence of hundreds of pilgrims from the mountainous Banat.

The hierarch urged the faithful to follow God every day and not to renounce the cross.

"Let us also appropriate the objective salvation that He brought us on the Cross of Calvary and interweave faith with good deeds, waiting for God's grace to fulfill and perfect all that is inappropriate and not assumed by us, because God's grace heals the powerless and fulfills those with deficiencies, as we say at the Sacrament of Ordination".

Petroșnița Monastery The foundation stone of the monastery was laid in 2005. The following year, the first building of river stone and brick was built for the monastery community.
