His Holiness Father Ioan Casian, the Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Canada, sent a message on the occasion of July 1, Canada's National Day.

Father Bishop Ioan Casian appreciates the moment as "an occasion of gratitude for the gift of freedom, peace and harmonious coexistence, strengthening in each of us the desire to contribute, through faith and good deeds, to the building of a fairer, more united and more spiritual society".

The Romanian hierarch sends his best wishes to all the faithful in the diocese, as well as to all Canadians.

"May this national holiday be an occasion of gratitude for the gift of freedom, peace and harmonious coexistence, strengthening in each of us the desire to contribute, through faith and good deeds, to the building of a fairer, more united and more spiritual society," the hierarch conveys.
