Archpriest Georgy Shevtsov left a part of his soul in the heart of every parishioner 09/10/2026

40 days have passed since the death of the rector of the parish of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the city of Bereza. His earthly journey ended on August 2. Father Georgy Shevtsov earned the deep respect of his fellow countrymen with his prayerful work, sincere help to people and his invaluable contribution to the development of the region. His activities were inextricably linked with the spiritual, moral and patriotic education of youth, education, preservation of historical and cultural heritage, charity and the construction of shrines.

For more than 30 years, Father Georgy carried out pastoral service on the Berezovsky land. As dean of the churches of the Berezovsky district, he tirelessly cared for the spiritual growth of his contemporaries. His name will forever remain in the history of the region: thanks to his labors, the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov was erected in the city of Beloozersk, the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the city of Bereza was reconstructed, and the Church of St. Archangel Michael was built in memory of the internationalist soldiers in the regional center. At these churches he founded Sunday schools, which became centers of spiritual education.
