Gomel parishes held charity events for the Day of Older Personstranslated

For the International Day of Older Persons, Gomel parishes held charity events aimed at supporting older people. Clergy, parish staff and youth visited nursing hospital patients and elderly parishioners at home.

On the eve of the Day of the Elderly, Priest Alexey Rykalin, the parish coordinator of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr St. George the Victorious, Valentina Stringel, and members of the youth brotherhood visited the patients of the Staro-Dyatlovichi Nursing Hospital.

The facility houses people who require ongoing medical care and assistance in daily life. The guests donated the necessary supplies for patient care, household items and sweets to the hospital.

At the request of the administration, Priest Alexey Rykalin consecrated the hospital building and wards.

On October 1, the rector of the parish of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hear,” Archpriest Alexander Shilenok, Deacon Mikhail Stepantsov and representatives of the parish youth visited parishioners Galina Ivanovna and Nina Afanasyevna at home.
