The Chairman of the Commission for Physical Culture and Sports of the Rostov-on-Don Diocese performed a prayer service at the beginning of the school year at a sports boarding schooltranslated

On September 8, 2026, on the initiative of the Commission for Physical Culture and Sports of the Rostov-on-Don Diocese, a prayer service was held at the Rostov Sports Boarding School for the beginning of the new school year. The service was performed by the Chairman of the Commission for Physical Culture and Sports of the Rostov-on-Don Diocese, the rector of the Church of the Prophet Elijah in the city of Taganrog, Priest Pavel Dudoladov.

The event was attended by the director of the boarding school, Olympic champion Nikolai Spinev, advisor to the director for educational work Evgenia Ostrovskaya, representatives of the teaching staff and students of the educational institution.

At the end of the prayer service, Priest Pavel Dudoladov addressed those gathered with a welcoming speech, in which he noted the importance of spiritual support at the beginning of the school year and wished the students God’s help in their studies and sports achievements. The Chairman of the Commission also held a conversation with students on the prevention of extremism and terrorism. During the meeting, these issues were examined through the prism of spiritual and moral values, special attention was paid to the importance of peace, respect for one's neighbor and responsibility to society.
