Feast of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Ermakovkatranslated

On August 5, 2026, on the day of honoring the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God, a festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the village of Ermakovka, Tara region.

With the blessing of Bishop Vikenty of Tara and Tyukalinsk, the secretary of the Diocesan Council and assistant to the bishop, Archimandrite Thaddeus (Cherednichenko), arrived in the village of Ermakovka for the holiday.

This day is also of particular significance for the parishioners of the village in connection with another memorable event: on August 5, 2014, benefactors presented the ark with particles of the relics of the holy saints of God to the local church.

At the end of the service, the rector of the parish, Priest Nikolai Gensitsky, was presented with a commemorative breastplate in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Spassky Cathedral. Father previously bore the obedience of the rector of the cathedral church.

Archimandrite Thaddeus thanked Father Nicholas for his many years of diligent pastoral service, conveyed the bishop’s blessing and wished him God’s all-powerful help in his future labors.

At the end of the service, the clergy and the guests visited the local history museum, where they were given an introductory tour.
