On September 16, 2026, Orthodox believers remember the Pisidian Icon of the Mother of God, which is revered as miraculous. Numerous testimonies of help to people who turned to the Mother of God with prayers are associated with the image. The name of the icon comes from the area of Pisidia in Asia Minor.

The history of the veneration of the image is connected with Saint Auxentius, who lived in the 5th century. According to legend, through the Pisidian icon the Mother of God showed help to people, and stories about the miracles and healings that took place spread among Christians. One of the most famous legends was the appearance of the world - fragrant oil - from the hand of the Mother of God on the image, which is why the icon is also called the Pisidian Myrrh-Streaming Icon.
In front of this image, believers turn to the Mother of God with requests for health, healing from illnesses and help for children and loved ones. They also pray for family well-being, support in difficult life circumstances, protection from troubles and strengthening of faith and mental strength. At the same time, the Orthodox tradition does not consider the icon itself as an independent source of miracles: prayer through the image is addressed to the Mother of God and God.
