On August 11, on the birthday of St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the people of Zaraisk celebrated the day of remembrance of the transfer of his miraculous image from Chersonesus to Zaraisk. The celebrations began with a prayer service at the White Well and continued with a religious procession to the St. Nicholas Cathedral of the Kremlin.
