Congratulations from His Eminence John, Metropolitan of Belgorod and Stary Oskol on the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord God and Our Savior Jesus Christtranslated

August 18, 2026 · 1 min read

With the blessing of Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, the main meaning of the Transfiguration of the Lord is the manifestation of the Divine nature of Christ. He revealed Himself as the Lord of life and death, therefore the upcoming human reproach, betrayal, suffering and death itself did not become His defeat or shame. Christ conquered death by His Resurrection. However, for the majority of Christ's followers and for the disciples themselves, He still remained the earthly Messiah - the King, the Healer, even the one who raised the dead, the Righteous One, having a special gift from God. Therefore, after His crucifixion, the apostles will gather together, fearing reprisals from the Jews, they will forget His words about rising from the grave. But Christ appears to them as the Risen One, instructing them and revealing the secrets of communion with God during the forty days before His Ascension. On Tabor, a heavenly testimony of the truth of the deity of Christ took place - the appearance of the Lawgiver Moses with the “Tablets of the Covenant”, where the Ten Commandments and the appearance of the formidable prophet Elijah were written. And the disciples of Christ became earthly witnesses of the glory of God.

The uncreated Tabor Light, coming from the depths of existence, opened up the opportunity for humanity not only to feel the presence of God, but also to clearly see the Glory of God...
