Patriarch of Antioch presides over Vigil for Feast of Saints Peter and Paul in Damascus

June 29, 2026 · 1 min read

The Patriarchate of Antioch solemnly celebrated the feast of the Holy Chief Apostles Peter and Paul with a festal All-Night Vigil at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Damascus.

The service was presided over by His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East, together with clergy of the Patriarchate.

The vigil brought together faithful in prayer and thanksgiving as the Orthodox Church commemorated the two foremost apostles, who played a decisive role in the spread of the Gospel and the establishment of the early Church.

Saints Peter and Paul are honored annually on June 29 for their apostolic ministry, steadfast witness to Christ, and martyrdom for the Christian faith.
