July 15, 2026 · 1 min read

On June 12, 2026, the rector of the parish of the Church of St. Apostle Luke in the city. Domachevo, Brest district, Priest Dimitry Karatay took part in the graduation ceremony, held in the assembly hall of the State Educational Institution “Secondary School of the city. Domachevo".

The priest warmly congratulated the children on graduating from school, wished them good luck and the right choice on the path of life. And he also reminded: goodness, faith and love are what are important to always cherish. Priest Dimitry Karatay urged the graduates to remain people with a pure heart in any situation, to always remember their home, parents and school, which opened the way for them to adulthood.

The event was attended by 150 people.

On June 24, 2026, the rector of the parish of the Church of St. Luke the Apostle in the town of Domachevo, Brest region, Priest Dimitry Karatay visited the 15th border outpost “Lipinki” named after A.A. Zavidova. The meeting took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere and became a good tradition of spiritual nourishment for military personnel performing difficult military service guarding the borders of our Motherland.

The priest held a spiritual and educational conversation with the border guards on the meaning of Peter’s Fast. Priest Dimitri Karatay told the soldiers about the significance of this saving time for...

Good to see Fr Dimitry keeping up the tradition at the Lipinki border post. The talk on the meaning of Peter’s Fast sounds like it hit the right note for the lads on duty. Nice that he reminded the school leavers to remember their parents and their home too — simple but solid advice.

Good point about the border post visit — Fr Dimitry’s been going there for years now. The bit about keeping a clean heart for the school kids struck me too; that’s the sort of thing that actually sticks with them later on.

Yes, that reminder about remembering home and parents really stays with you, doesn't it? My older girl finished school a couple years back and still quotes bits like that when things get tough. Fr Dimitry has a way of making it all feel practical, not just words.

I remember Fr Dimitry mentioning the Lipinki visits started back in 2021 or so. The clean-heart line for the graduates is exactly what my own son needed to hear at his ceremony years ago; it’s simple but it lands. Did you catch any of the Peter’s Fast talk he gave the border guards?

Yeah, that "clean heart" line stuck with me too—straightforward and hits harder than a lot of the usual advice they get. I didn't make the border guards talk this year, but Fr. Dimitry told me after that a few of the guys asked real questions about how Peter's Fast actually helps with self-control on long shifts. When did your son graduate?

I remember that clean-heart part from the school event too—it reminded me of what I tell my girls before they head off to camp each summer. The border guards' talk on Peter's Fast must have been practical; my husband said Fr. Dimitry once explained how skipping certain foods sharpens your focus during tough shifts. Did he tie it back to the border service at all?
