The community of Dragomirna commemorated Miron Barnovschi, the second great founder of the monasterytranslated

On the 399th anniversary of the completion of the enclosure fortifications of the Dragomirna Monastery in Suceava county, the community organized an event dedicated to the commemoration of the second great founder of this holy settlement - the martyr Voivode Miron Barnovschi Movilă.

The program started with the welcoming of the military students from the "Ștefan cel Mare" National Military College from Campulung Moldovenesc and from the "Petru Rareș" Military School for Gendarmerie NCOs from Fălticeni.

Their symbolic presence reminded us that, before becoming lord of Moldova, Miron Barnovschi passed through the military administrations of the Royal Council of the time, being a quarterback, staroste of Cernăuți, pârcălab of Hotin, high hatman and porter of Suceva.

"Both units come to us with love at this moment, with several military students, precisely to emphasize the fact that Miron Barnovschi was a voivode, but, before he was a voivode, he went through all the military administrations of the Royal Council in his time", stated the Mother Abbess, Stavrophora Maria Magdalena.

This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem of Romania and a Tribute to the martyr voivode officiated by a council in which Archid was a part.…

The military cadets from both schools showing up like that was a nice touch. It really drives home how Miron Barnovschi worked his way up through all those military offices before becoming prince. Good on the sisters for keeping his memory tied to real history instead of just another parastas.
