A national campaign encourages young people to spot the signs of an abusive relationship on TikToktranslated

The National Agency for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men (ANES) has launched the "Red Flag or Not?" campaign, encouraging young people to identify, on the social media platform TikTok, the signs of an abusive relationship.

According to a press release sent by the institution, the initiative starts from the fact that violence does not always begin with an act of aggression. Controlling, jealousy, checking your phone, isolating yourself from friends or family, manipulation, and repeatedly violating personal boundaries can be early signs of an abusive relationship.

As part of the action, ANES launched the interactive filter "Red Flag or Not?" on TikTok, which includes 25 situations inspired by real life.

Users are invited to determine whether the presented situations represent a "Green Flag" (a.k.a. acceptable behavior) or a "Red Flag" (a.k.a. objectionable behavior), after which they receive explanations about behaviors associated with control, jealousy, manipulation, or disrespect.
