Feast of Saint Cyprian the Hieromartyr and Justin the Martyrtranslated

During the feast of the holy Hieromartyr Cyprian and Justin Martyr, the Bishop celebrated Vespers in the chapel of the same name of the Holy Patriarchal and Holy Cross Monastery of Gonia, which is located in the port of Kolymvari. In his speech he mentioned, among other things: "Today's honored martyrs of our faith, Cyprian and Justin, and above all the holy Hieromartyr Cyprian, reveal to us how a person is transformed when he meets Christ. From a famous magician of his time, Cyprian, knowing Christ, transforms into a fiery missionary and preacher of the Gospel, not hesitating to be led to a martyr's end.
This is the miracle of getting to know Christ, i.e. the relationship with the Person par excellence of history and life, as getting to know Christ is not a matter of logic or emotion, but a personal relationship. Christ does not just change some things from our life, nor our habits. He changes our hearts, transforming us into a "new creation." The question is how open we are, how receptive our heart is to this call of Divine love", concluded our Bishop. Exciting crowd turnout...
