Pilgrimage to the Cross 2026translated

On the Sunday of the Holy Cross (March 15, 2026) our Most Reverend Metropolitan celebrated the Orthros and presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Parish Church of the Holy Cross of Apollonia, where an ancient wood-carved Cross (12th century) with honest wood is kept, a precious heritage of the city and our local Church. After the end of the Divine Liturgy, he performed the Consecration of the Inauguration of the Ecclesiastical Museum of the Parish, a project which was implemented by the Communication and Educational Foundation of the Holy Metropolis of Rhodes with funding from the local CLLD/Leader program in sub-measure 19.2, in sub-action 19.2.4.5, of AN.DO. S.A. In his speech, among others, he referred to the importance of the operation of the new Ecclesiastical Museum, to the relationship between local Ecclesiastical Tradition and the modern development of the place and in conclusion he expressed the satisfaction of the Church to the President of the Ecclesiastical Committee Fr. Elias Petridis and its Members, as well as to all those who contributed and worked for the implementation of the project.
