Lefkados Theofilos in the restoration works of the eastern wing of I.M. Genesios Timi Prodromostranslated

On Monday, August 31, 2026, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Lefkada and Ithaca Mr. Theofilos visited the historic Holy Monastery of Agios Ioannis the Forerunner in Livadi Karyas, in order to supervise the ongoing restoration works in the eastern wing of the Monastery. His Holiness, after speaking with the experienced craftsmen, found that the Monastery is slowly regaining its former glory. The complex of cells, the ruins of which until recently had been covered by dense vegetation, is slowly being erected again.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of His Eminence and the daily struggle of the members of the brotherhood, the Monastery of Agios Ioannou has regained life and is a spiritual point of reference for Lefkadians and its visitors.

It is worth pointing out that the titanic struggle for the revival of the Holy Monastery began on the first day of the arrival of Pastor Mr. Theofilos and is based exclusively on the love and contribution of devout Christians, who see that their moral and material support towards this goal is having results.
