Timothy of Thessalio: Saint Marina, eternal model of love for Christtranslated

On the afternoon of Thursday, July 16, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaly, Mr. Timotheus, officiated at the solemn Vespers service for the holy memory of the Holy and Glorious Great Martyr Marini, in the Holy Chapel of the same name of the Local Community of Mavrommatiou, in the presence of a large number of believers who came to honor the great witness of the Church. During his speech he developed the importance of the personality of Saint Marina, presenting her as one of the most brilliant figures of the early Christian years and as a timeless model of total love for Jesus Christ, which continues to inspire every faithful person and especially the new generation.
Beginning his reference to the life of the Saint, he pointed out that Saint Marina belongs to the great choir of the first martyrs of the Church, as she was martyred during the period of the great persecution of Christians, under Emperor Diocletian. He was born in Antioch in Pisidia and grew up in an environment that combined two different worlds.
