Patriarch of Serbia: To strengthen the ties of the homeland with the diasporatranslated

The Patriarch of Serbia Mr. Porfirios met with representatives of the Serbian charitable organization "Diaspora Fund for the Homeland" on September 2, 2026, at the House of the Holy Church of Saint Savva in Belgrade. During the meeting, the representatives of the Fund presented to His Beatitude the work and the achievements of the organization to date, which is active with a focus on three main axes: providing assistance to socially vulnerable Serbs and to institutions in need of support, strengthening ties between the homeland and the Serbian diaspora, as well as preserving the national, cultural and spiritual identity of the Serbian people.

Particular reference was made to the current situation in the Serbian diaspora, with Patriarch Porphyrio pointing out both its significant potential and achievements as well as the challenges that require specific initiatives to strengthen unity and solidarity, especially between different generations and social groups.
