Activities of "Karellio" of "APOSTOLIS" for dementia in the Municipality of Mandras - Idylliastranslated

Four information activities and free memory check-ups were carried out in the Erythron, Oinois, Mandra and Vilion CHPs by "Karellio", the Integrated Unit for the Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Diseases of the Charity Organization "APOSTOLI" of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, in collaboration with the MEGA company and the Municipality of Mandra - Idyllia. On the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day, on September 21, the initiative aimed to inform and raise awareness of dementia in the local community, at the same time enabling citizens over 60 to undergo a preventive memory test free of charge.

During the activities, the specialized scientific staff of "Karellio" informed the participants about Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, the early symptoms and the importance of their early recognition. Modern therapeutic and supportive approaches, as well as ways of managing the difficulties faced by people living with dementia, were also presented.
