It's nice that ο Πατριάρχης Βαρθολομαίος δέχετα το τρόπαιο της ΑΕΚ στο Τανάρι, it shows how close he feels to our world. Anyway, I'm happy that our team won the trophy, even though I didn't get to see the final.

I am glad for AEK, that they won the cup, but to be honest, I don't really understand why the Patriarch lifts the football trophy in Fanar. This is not a church icon, but a sports prize.

I think the Patriarch wanted to show support to the people of Greece, but Tetiana is right – Fanar is not a stadium. The trophy is nice for AEK, but it is better to be in their club than on the patriarchal throne.

It's nice the Patriarch showed support for the fans, but I agree with Тетяна — a football trophy belongs at the AEK club, not lifted at the Phanar like it's some church relic. Feels a bit odd to me too.

Elena, you are partially right about Fanar – it is not a place for trophies. But I think Bartholomew wanted to remind AEK that the church is also their host, not just the stadium. The trophy must have quickly returned to them, it did not stay on the throne.

Vlado, I partially agree, but it seems to me that the throne trophy in Fanar looked more like an advertisement for AEK than a reminder of the church. I wonder if any of the clergy at least felt uncomfortable when they put him there. And what do you think, did it really help the fans to remember that the church is their "host"?

Vlado, I partially agree with you, but the throne trophy felt more like a show than a home message. I wonder if Bartholomew really thought this would bring fans closer to the church, or just give them another reason to brag on social media. How long do you think it took them to get it back?
