With emotion, Nafplio said goodbye to the Holy Icon of the Virgin of the Mount of Olivestranslated

With feelings of emotion and deep sadness, clergy and people in Nafplion said goodbye today, Tuesday, October 6, 2026, to the Holy and miraculous Icon of the Virgin Mary of the Mount of Olives, which is returning to Jerusalem after its eight-day pilgrimage to the Holy Church of Evangelistria. Throughout her stay, a multitude of believers from Nafplio, Argolis, but also from many regions of Greece, came to the Holy Church of Evangelistria to worship the Holy Icon, to pray before the Virgin Mary and to ask for Her grace and protection.

Before the departure of the Holy Icon, the last Holy Prayer to the Virgin Mary of the Mount of Olives was performed, in an atmosphere of emotion and reverence, with the participation of believers who rushed to worship once more the venerable holy relic from Jerusalem.

The pilgrimage of the Holy Icon to the Holy Church of Evangelistria was a special blessing and an important spiritual event for the city of Nafplion and the entire Argolis.
