On the morning of Thursday, August 6, 2026, the great Despotic feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord was celebrated with particular splendor and in an atmosphere of opulence in the celebratory Holy Church of the Transfiguration of Sotiros Kallithea. The solemn High Priestly Divine Liturgy was presided over and officiated by the Most Reverend Bishop of Rogon, Mr. Filotheos, with the participation of the head of the church, Fr.

From the early hours of the morning, a multitude of believers came to the celebratory church, in order to worship the holy icon of the Transfiguration of the Savior, to participate in the Mystery of the Holy Eucharist and to receive the blessing of the great holiday. Parishioners, families and residents of the wider area flooded the church, while many remained reverently until the end of the Divine Liturgy.

In his sermon, Bishop Rogon referred to the high theological content of the Transfiguration and its close connection with the voluntary Passion and the Cross of the Lord.
