After centuries of silence, the Early Christian Cemetery of the ancient city of Samos, at the location "Glyfada", near the Pythagorean, opens its gates again, to receive the prayer and worship of the Church. Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., in the Old Christian Cemetery, the Holy Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos will be held, presided over by the Reverend Pastor Mr. Eusebius.
The Early Christian Cemetery, which dates from the 4th to the middle of the 7th AD. century, is one of the most important early Christian monuments of Samos and a precious testimony of the presence and faith of the first Christian communities of our place.
Among other things, the tombs of the three Samian Military Saints and Confessors, Leo, Grigorio and Theodore, were located in this sacred area, constituting a special blessing and a living testimony of the Christian life of our place.
