The Elevation of the Holy Cross in Argyrokastrotranslated

The great feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-giving Cross, one of the most important feasts of our Orthodox Church, was held in the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral in Argyrokastro. The Holy Liturgy was celebrated by the Metropolitan of Argyrokastro, Mr. Nathanael, with the participation of the clergy and the faithful, who gathered to pray to the Lord and honor the Holy Cross, the symbol of victory and the salvation of humanity.

The Cross, which in the eyes of the world appeared as a symbol of shame and martyrdom, through Christ became a source of life, hope and salvation. On him, the Son of God accepted with love and humility the passion for the salvation of the world and, defeating death, opened for humanity the way to the Resurrection.

After the end of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Nathanael addressed his paternal wishes and blessings to all the faithful, wishing that the grace of the Holy and Living Cross will always be protection, strength and blessing in their lives.
