The PASOK MEP left yesterday, Thursday, September 24, from Brussels for Cairo, Egypt and from there for the Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine of Sinai for a 2-day visit, at the invitation of the Sinaitic Community and the Egyptian Authorities, following his recent meeting with the Ambassador of Egypt to the European Union, Mr. Ahmed Abu Zeid .

Mr. Farandouris and Mr. Zeid met on September 8 in Brussels at the request of the Egyptian side, the same day as the tripartite Egypt-Greece-Cyprus meeting in El Alamein with the participation of the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides.
