America's Hope Bearer in Agios Nikolaos at Ground Zero for 9/11translated

25 years after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine of St. Nicholas at Ground Zero held a memorial service to honor the people who lost their lives on one of the darkest days in American history. Gathered in the sanctuary, steps away from the World Trade Center Memorial, attendees engaged in prayer, heard personal testimonies about 9/11 and learned about the resilience of St. Nicholas Church, the only place of worship destroyed on 9/11.

Among those present were the Mayor of New York Zoran Mamdani, His Excellency Ronald Hicks, Roman Catholic Archbishop of New York, the Consul General of Greece in New York Ifigenia Kanara, the Consul General of Cyprus in New York Kyriakos Pogiatzis, the Consul General of Romania in New York Michaela-Simon Florea, leaders of various religions, public officials, members of the first response teams, survivors, relatives of the victims, pastors, clergy and believers.
